Product description

IDVP.01.K Rotor Vibration Monitoring Module

The IDVP.01.K Vibration Monitoring Module (VMM) is предназначен for non-contact measurement of relative displacement and relative vibration displacement, as well as monitoring of the peak-to-peak relative vibration displacement of rotating parts of equipment (units, machines, and mechanisms). The housing of the primary measuring transducer is made of dielectric material (glass-fiber reinforced laminate).

The IDVP.01.K VMM is recommended for monitoring the relative displacement and relative vibration displacement of slip rings in the brush-contact assembly of turbo-generator units. The IDVP.01.K can also be used as a standalone module for measurement, alarm signaling, and protection of machines and mechanisms against exceeding emergency threshold levels of monitored parameters, as well as a component of the “PULS 1.02” monitoring and measuring system, process control automation systems (PCS/SCADA), or other automated systems.

Composition of the IDVP.01.K Vibration Monitoring Module

The IDVP.01.K Vibration Monitoring Module consists of:

  • a non-contact single-channel eddy-current primary measuring transducer (PMT) of the PP-IP.K type;
  • a measuring converter (MC) of the FP-IP type.

The IDVP.01.K Vibration Monitoring Module (VMM) provides:

  • continuous measurement of current values of relative displacement and relative vibration displacement of rotating equipment parts;
  • monitoring and alarm signaling for: exceeding emergency threshold levels (3 levels) of relative vibration displacement peak-to-peak value, vibration jump detection, and exceeding the low-frequency (LF) vibration level;
  • transmission of measured values of relative displacement and relative vibration displacement peak-to-peak value, as well as amplitudes and phases of harmonic components of relative vibration displacement via the RS-485 serial interface to external recording and visualization devices;
  • fault signaling for the primary measuring transducer (PMT), including short circuit or open circuit conditions in the communication line between the PMT and the measuring converter (MC);
  • transmission of information on аварійні events and faults via the RS-485 serial interface to external recording and visualization devices;
  • generation of discrete output signals for vibration jump events, exceeding LF vibration levels, and reaching emergency threshold levels of relative vibration displacement peak-to-peak value for external alarm systems;
  • generation of a standardized 4–20 mA DC analog output signal proportional to the relative vibration displacement peak-to-peak value;
  • generation of a 0–3 V analog voltage output signal proportional to the current values of relative vibration displacement and relative displacement;
  • automatic compensation of ambient temperature influence (temperature compensation) on measured values of relative displacement and relative vibration displacement;
  • automatic functional self-diagnostics.

  1. Measurement range with standardized metrological characteristics. The actual measurement range is from 10 µm to 10 mm.

  2. The maximum upper measurement limit of the relative vibration displacement peak-to-peak value together with relative displacement shall not exceed 8 mm.

  3. Frequency measurement range with standardized metrological characteristics. The actual frequency measurement range of the relative vibration displacement peak-to-peak value is from 0.05 Hz to 1500 Hz.

  4. Manufacturing with a different reference frequency value is available upon Customer request.

  5. The DC component of the output analog voltage signal is proportional to the relative displacement, while the AC component is proportional to the relative vibration displacement.

  6. The amplitudes and phases of harmonic components of vibration displacement are measured only when a keyphasor signal is applied to the corresponding input of the measuring converter (MC).

  7. Initial setting gap between the tip of the primary measuring transducer (PMT) and the monitored surface:
    S₀ = ST + Su.
